Beale Considering Code Switch

Beale considering switch to NRL

According to reports on the NRL site ZeroTackle, Wallabies and Waratah’s star Kurtley Beale is considering switching codes to Rugby League and signing with the Canterbury Bulldogs.

Beale has held tentative talks with the Bulldog’s coach, Des Hasler, who want’s Beale to replace Ben Barba who left the ‘Dogs’ to join The Brisbane Bronco’s.

Previously, the Sydney born utility back has stated that he would be receptive to a switch to the NRL and even took part in a training session with the Melbourne Storm in January of last year.

Should Beale switch codes, he would be going against the grain, as, invariably, Union players rarely switch to League during their prime. League players, on the other hand, are attracted to the bigger pay packages offered in the fifteen man game and, therefore, League players switching to Union is far more common than Union players switching to League.

The question remains, could Beale replicate his Union form in the NRL?
